OpeNDSSEC process hangs

We have two ODS systems, one for production and one for tests.

In both systems we have seen the signer process hang, blocking the entire process. CPUs are idle.

In the production system, only signing 3 zones, we've seen this two times, ca. 3 months apart. To resolve the situation, I the ODS system was stopped and restarted (stop did success with a note in the log that signing failed with nn of mm signatures completed). The productions system is running
SoftHSM 1.3.3 and ODS from the 1-3-branch, rev. 6459. I did not try to collect information from the production environment.

I've been waiting for this to show up in the test system (signing 47 zones) and now it did.
The test system is running ODS 1.3.12 and SoftHSM 1.3.4. I attach the last entries from the log file and
some command output. However, I'm not sure what additional information you need and based on previous
experience is is possible that the hang will resolve itself when collecting information and since the
problem occur with long intervals I would like some advise how to get as much relevant information as possible.

Note that other processes also hang, see the attached file. The entire ODS systems seems to be in some
deadlock state (ods-signer update, ods-ksmutil key list, ods-ksmutil backup prepare all hang).
If any of these command/actions triggered the problem is unknown.
